Facebook recently added a new feature to the social interaction aspect of the site. More specifically, the comments. What was once just ordinary text smileys, are now fulling upright iconic images to spice up your comments. The icons available for use in Facebook comments are the same ones used in the Facebook chat app, and Message Center.
There are more than two dozen different icons, which are also called smileys. A lot more people make comments in the news feed than use the Facebook real-time chat app, so it’s possible we could all be seeing a lot more smileys on Facebook. I think that if Facebook is going to allow members to display these smileys in the comments, then there should be a graphical emoticon menu on the side of the page that displays the image and the corresponding code for that image.

And by simply clicking on that image, the code will be added to your comment, in the place that you last typed. In other words, where your cursor is at. But, until such time as Facebook decides to do that, here is the list of smileys that can be used in comments, chat, and the Message Center.
